NASED Marks 29 Days Before the November 3rd General Election
For Immediate Release
October 5, 2020
WASHINGTON, DC – Today marks 29 days from the November 3rd General Election. The National Association of State Election Directors (NASED) issues the following statement:
“Today, we are fewer than 30 days away from the November 3rd General Election. If you are not already registered to vote, state voter registration deadlines are fast approaching and some have already passed. If your state deadline permits and you are already registered to vote, make sure that your voter registration information is correct and if it is not, update it now to make sure that you are ready to cast your ballot this November. The address on your voter registration impacts what candidates and races are on your ballot and may impact where you are able to vote in-person if you choose to do so.
Over the next few weeks, election officials in the more than 9,000 local election jurisdictions around the country will be working hard to conduct logic and accuracy testing on voting equipment, recruit and train election workers, and mail ballots, among many other things. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication to our democracy in this truly unprecedented year. Local election officials are putting their lives on the line to ensure that Americans can participate in this election safely. State election officials could not do this without them.”
