RELEASE: Statement from NASED President Meagan Wolfe on the Upcoming November 8th General Election
For Immediate Release
November 1, 2022
WASHINGTON, DC – Today marks one week before the November 8th general election. Meagan Wolfe, President of the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED) and Administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, issues the following reminder to voters:
“The election is just a few days away, and false information about the election process is picking up. In these final days before Election Day, voters should get their information about the election from reliable sources – election officials – because information about elections can change at the last minute. Be prepared to vote next week: know where to go, what is on your ballot, and what, if anything, you need to bring with you.”
There is a lot of information out there about elections, but not all of it is accurate. Think before sharing information about the election process. It is easy to respond emotionally, especially about something as critical as elections, but a strong emotional reaction may mean you should reassess before sharing. And please, encourage your community to do the same and to verify election information with election officials.”
